eXTREMESLAND 2025 Day 1 Recap: LVG and Eruption Secure Top Seeds; Nemesis and JiJieHao Narrowly Advance
On the opening day of the eXTREMESLAND CS Asia Open, the four advancing teams from Group A and Group B have been officially determined.
Group A saw a three way deadlock across its three BO1 matches. However, LVG secured a significant advantage in round difference thanks to a dominant 13-2 victory in their first match, allowing them to advance as the top seed. Nemesis managed to clinch the second seed by a single-round margin after bouncing back from an opening loss to narrowly defeat DCG. Despite their upset victory over LVG, the Southeast Asian powerhouse DCG was unfortunately eliminated due to a slightly lower round difference.
In Group B, Eruption delivered an outstanding performance, taking the top spot with a perfect 2-0 record. Meanwhile, JiJieHao successfully defeated the South Korean squad Sensation to secure the other playoff berth.

First Day Results

Map:Nuke(LVG 13-2 Nemesis SEA)
The opening match featured LVG against Nemesis on Nuke. LVG fired on all cylinders this game, securing a comfortable victory through superior tactical depth and map knowledge.
In the first half, Nemesis relied on a double-kill entry by w1nt3r to win their first full-buy round. However, LVG quickly took control of the game's tempo, with Westmelon delivering multiple multi-kills to consistently halt the opponent's offensive momentum. In the 10th round, Zumss secured the opening pick with an AWP, provided information tags before sniping Westmelon, and finished off the final player during the post-plant to claim the team's second point with an AWP 4 kills. Nevertheless, in the final round of the first half, Starry's aggressive 4 kills with an AK locked the score at 10-2.
During the second-half pistol round, Nemesis fought back from a two-man deficit with a triple-kill to even the numbers; although Derek eliminated the remaining players with dual Berettas, there was no time left to defuse the bomb. A subsequent force-buy from Nemesis was shut down by a 4 kill from z4kr, and LVG ultimately defeated Nemesis 13-2.

Map: Ancient (LVG 11-13 Deep Cross Gaming)
DCG started strong in the first half, taking the first three rounds followed by a full-buy round victory. However, LVG fought back, quickly overtaking the lead and even winning several disadvantaged clutch situations, including 3v5s. Thanks to a balanced performance across their roster, DCG kept the score close at 7-5 by halftime.
In the second half, LVG won the pistol round and continued their momentum, securing the opening kill in the subsequent full-buy round. However, their 3-man defense on the B-site only traded one kill, leaving z4kr in a 1v2 clutch. With incredibly fast target acquisition and flick shots, z4kr secured the round for LVG, pushing the score to 11-5. Suddenly, LVG's momentum completely stalled, their mid-control contests and local retakes failed to yield results, while DCG repeatedly found opening picks. A fragile economy on the CT side prevented LVG from building up a proper full buy. After losing match point, the A-site was overrun, and Westmelon’s attempt at a final clutch fell just short. LVG eventually fell to DCG 11-13.

The third match featured Nemesis SEA against DCG. In this game, ImpressioN and w1nt3r delivered massive firepower, with the legendary veteran IGL ImpressioN leading the team to a dominant victory with a standout 1.49 rating.
According to the group stage format, DCG only needed to secure 7 rounds to lock in their spot for the playoffs. In the first half, DCG won the pistol round, but Nemesis immediately responded with a force-buy conversion and took three consecutive rounds. The two teams then traded rounds back and forth. In the 8th round, DCG’s counter-aggression in Banana allowed xanzu to secure a double kill, but Nemesis still claimed the final two rounds of the half, leaving the score at 7-5.
In the second-half pistol round, ImpressioN secured a 4 kill while defending the B-site, after which Nemesis completely took control of the match. In the 19th round, w1nt3r pushed aggressively through Mid, solo-handedly delivering a 4 kill to shut down the opponent's offensive. Ultimately, Nemesis went on a 6-1 run in the second half to finish the game 13-6, successfully advancing by a narrow +1 round difference.

Map:Ancient(JiJieHao 16-19 Eruption)
The fourth match featured JiJieHao against Eruption. The two teams battled through double overtime; while Eruption saw a balanced performance across the entire roster, JiJieHao relied heavily on BOROS as the sole pillar of the team. Ultimately, Eruption secured the victory in overtime.
In the first half, Eruption showed great form, mounting an early 6-1 offensive run. However, JiJieHao adjusted quickly following a tactical timeout. In the final round of the half, m1N1 secured a triple-kill with an AWP at the A-site, helping the team close the gap to 5-7 by halftime.
In the second half, JiJieHao took the first three rounds before Eruption responded. Entry frags from BOROS kept the score neck-and-neck for JJH. At a critical moment, wndrzwer caused massive chaos for the attackers by playing the "dark" corner of Donut (letting players pass before striking). Despite the confusion, BOROS stepped up again with a double-kill entry. Although JJH managed to break the opponent's economy and reach match point first, an AWP triple-kill from sideffect forced the game into overtime.
In overtime, BOROS's firepower remained undiminished, but teammate errors prevented JJH from closing out the game. Instead, MagumZ secured match point for Eruption with a 1v2 clutch. Moving into the second overtime, Eruption swept all three rounds on their T-side to lock in match point. Their final offensive push was dismantled by a crossfire at the B-site, but Eruption ultimately defeated JJH 19-16.

The fifth match featured JiJieHao against Sensation. There was a significant gap between the two sides, as JJH steamrolled their opponents while conceding only a single round throughout the match. Both 0SAMAS and BOROS delivered powerhouse performances, with each posting a rating of over 2.0.
In the third round of the first half, BOROS secured a double kill but was cut off during the retake. Subsequently, the Ts' crossfire setup locked down the CTs' attempt to retake the site, allowing Sensation to win a 3v5 and claim their only point of the match. From that point on, BOROS began a dominant individual showcase, racking up a 22-6 stat line by halftime.
In the second-half pistol round, JJH executed a fast A-split, where BOROS again secured the opening kill. Once the team spread out their lines of fire, the CTs stood no chance of a retake. Facing a subsequent force-buy from the opponents, 0SAMAS cleared the site with a triple kill, leading JJH to a comfortable 13-1 victory.

The final match featured Eruption vs. Sensation. Eruption's roster stepped up across the board, led by sideffect's god-tier performance to seal the victory.
Eruption took the first two rounds of the first half. In the third round, Sensation capitalized on a M4 saved from the previous round to break the deadlock and complete an eco-flip, subsequently stringing several rounds together. However, a fatal TK by AskM33 squandered their momentum, leaving the halftime score at 7-5.
In the second half, Sensation won the pistol but immediately lost to a force-buy. Eruption then took full control, their sharp offense conceding only two more rounds to finish the game 13-9.
